Important Features of a Great Preschool

preschool in pinner

The idea of opening up a preschool lures almost everyone but it’s tougher than we think. A great preschool isn’t just some toys here and there with so called “Teachers”. It’s a place where the future is molded and developed, hence should be within a frame of rules. Below are some of the features which makes a preschool, a great preschool.

Clean & Secure- It should be on the top of the list, a great preschool is clean, secure, and with the safest environment. Apart from this, the way to school and back to home should also be safe with no dark and shady streets. For example, a preschool in pinner, which is in the heart of London will certainly be considered safe.

Qualified Teachers- Not everyone can become a teacher, certified and qualified teachers are the backbone of any preschool and should be well trained in the process of teaching alphabet and counting, reading stories, singing songs, and anything which keeps children happy and motivated towards learning more.

Play Materials- There are two utmost important aspects when it comes to play material, one- the availability of all types of materials like toys, blocks, crayons etc and second is the maintenance of these play materials, anything broken should be fixed or replaced immediately.

Respecting Routine- A proper routine sets the difference between a daycare and a preschool. With a set schedule for activities, like writing, drawing, and playing inculcates a sense of discipline in a child's life. It also instills the idea of responsibility.

Happy Environment- The basic of a happy environment means mutual respect. Children from day one should be taught to respect the differences and enjoy what’s common between them. This helps in building self-esteem and confidence in the child as he/she feels accepted by everyone. The entire preschool should be called a family and taught the same to the children.

Healthy Academics- A healthy academics is something which builds up every aspect of the child, emotional, logical, reasoning, and more. Anything added as a subject should be backed by the answer to which aspect of the child will improve with this activity. The ideal way to make a healthy academics is to add up atleast one activity of every aspect. Take this like a healthy diet where all vitamins and minerals are taken into consideration.

Student Teacher Ratio- Every play school must have an ideal student teacher ratio. One teacher should be allocated to seven kids. The maximum number of lids should also be not more than twenty as kids require a lot of attention and personal interaction.

Involved Parents- Parents form an important part of any pre school and should be actively involved, it starts from sharing feedbacks, improvements, and more. A lot of times, a sudden change in behaviour is not reported to parents, the root cause of which is from home and not pre-school. Even slightest drop in attention from parents can result in change in behavior of the child, which should be discussed with the parents.
